The Liberty men's tennis team welcomes Bridgewater to the Hill City for its 2013 home opener on Friday night. The match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. indoors at the Sports Racket.

Live stats for the match will be available by clicking on the live stats link located on the men's tennis schedule/results page.

The Flames enter Friday night's match holding a 1-0 record on the season. Liberty rolled past Bluefield State, 7-0, in its season opener last Friday. It was the third consecutive year that the Flames have opened with a win over the Blues.

Liberty captured all three doubles matches and each of the six singles contests during the afternoon. Egon Samaai, playing in his first career collegiate dual match, posted a win in both doubles and singles play and was awarded the Big South Conference Crons Brand Men's Tennis Freshman of the Week honor.

The Flames enter Friday's match with an even 13-13 record all-time in home openers, including a 9-4 mark since the 2000 season.

In matches played at the Sports Racket, Liberty is 5-5 dating back to 2006. Last season, the Flames split their two matches at the indoor facility, falling to Richmond, 6-1, on Feb. 3 before sweeping Averett, 7-0, the following day.

Friday's contest will mark the 2013 season opener for Bridgewater. The Eagles finished the 2012 season with a 13-6 overall record and an 8-1 mark in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).

Bridgewater reached the finals of the ODAC men's tennis championship as the No. 2 seed, but fell to top-seeded Washington and Lee, 5-0.

Evan Stack is the Eagles' top returnee from the 2012 team. The sophomore finished with a 13-4 overall record (7-1 ODAC) and was named to the second team all-conference squad.

The Flames are 4-0 versus Bridgewater all-time, with the last meeting between the two Commonwealth schools taking place during the 1990 season.

Following Friday's match, Liberty will take to the road for back-to-back matches, beginning with a Feb. 16 contest against Norfolk State at 2 p.m. The Flames will then travel to Williamsburg, Va., for a match with William & Mary on Feb. 17, starting at 9 a.m.
