Second-year head football coach Turner Gill has signed the largest incoming Liberty football class in the past eight seasons, inking 21 new players to national letters of intent (NLI) today as a part of college football's national signing day.

Following his first year at Liberty, where he guided the Flames to their fifth Big South title in the last six seasons, Gill announced earlier today announced his 2013 recruiting class at a press conference in the Donor Room of the Williams Football Operations Center.

Gill's 21 newly signed recruits mark Liberty's largest signing class since 2006 when the Flames inked 24 players to NLIs. Since the 2000 season, Liberty has had three other football recruiting classes with 20 or more signees (2001: 22; 2005: 24 and 2006: 24).

Liberty's 21 new football recruits hail from five different states, spotlighted by six players from Virginia and Texas. The Flames also inked four players from Florida, three from North Carolina and two from Georgia.
