Tolu Omotola averaged 16.0 ppg and 9.5 rpg to win her third Big South Women's Basketball Player of the Week award this season.

After leading the Lady Flames to a pair of Big South road wins, Liberty redshirt senior forward/center Tolu Omotola has been honored as Big South Conference Choice Hotels Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Omotola, who previously earned the award on Nov. 19 and Dec. 3, joins teammate Devon Brown as the Big South's only three-time Players of the Week this season.

The native of Houston, Texas averaged 16.0 ppg last week, while pacing the team in rebounds (9.5 rpg) and blocked shots (2.0 bpg). She shot 56.5 percent (13-of-23) from the field and 66.7 percent (6-of-9) from the free throw line.

Omotola contributed 10 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots to Liberty's 78-56 win at Campbell on Thursday. She made five of seven field goal attempts in 26 minutes of action.

Omotola's best work of the week came during the second half of the Lady Flames' come-from-behind 67-59 triumph at High Point on Saturday. After Liberty trailed by 15 points at halftime, Omotola spearheaded the Lady Flames' comeback with 17 points, nine rebounds and three steals during the second half. She finished the game with 22 points and 12 boards for her sixth double-double of the season.

The two victories kept Liberty in a tie with Winthrop atop the Big South standings at 9-2. The Lady Flames have just one game on the schedule this week, a Saturday matinee at Longwood. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. inside Willett Hall.
