The Game
The Liberty University Flames (11-12, 5-4 Big South) hit the road again as they travel to take on the Winthrop University Eagles (19-4, 9-0 Big South) at the Winthrop Coliseum (6,600) in Rock Hill, S.C., on Feb. 6, 2007. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST.

The game will be broadcast on WRVL 88.3 FM with play-by-play by Jerry Edwards.

The Coaches
Flames' head coach Randy Dunton is currently in his sixth year overall as head coach of the Liberty basketball program. He served as the interim head coach during the 1997-98 season and was named full-time head coach prior to the 2002-03 campaign. Dunton has posted a 63-79 record since returning to Liberty, which includes two second-place finishes in the Big South and a share of the regular-season title in 2004 en route to the program's second-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament. 

Gregg Marshall is in the middle of his ninth season as the head coach at Winthrop and brings a 182-82 career record into tonight's game. 

He has led the Eagles to six NCAA tournament appearances during his eight seasons, including four-consecutive trips during his first four years at the helm. The 2005-06 team compiled a 23-7 record and came within a basket of capturing its first victory in the NCAA tournament. 

Liberty Versus Winthrop
Winthrop holds the all-time series advantage with a 22-13 mark. The Flames are 5-11 at Winthrop and 8-9 at home and 0-2 on a neutral court. The Flames have dropped the last two meetings including a 68-40 loss at home on Jan. 13.

Larry Blair Versus Winthrop
In eight career games against the Eagles, Larry Blair is averaging 18.25 points per game. Blair had his highest scoring effort against Winthrop last season at the Vines Center when he scored 37 points on Feb. 20, 2006.

The Flames' Own Killer Bs
During the Flames current four game win streak junior Dwight Brewington and senior Larry Blair have been hot. 

Brewington is averaging 21.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 26.8 minutes per game during the current win streak. Blair is averaging 20.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 32.0 minutes per game over the same span.

Dwight Brewington Looking For 700 Career Points
Including his two years at Providence, Dwight Brewington has 686 career points. Brewington needs 14 points to reach 700 for his career. 

Brewington scored 464 points at Providence and 222 with the Flames.

Blair Leads Race To Big South Record Of Games Played
Larry Blair has currently played 114 career games. There is a four man race for the Big South record for games played set by Pierre Wooten of Winthrop (120) from 1998-03.
Landon Quick of High Point is also at 114 career games. Phillip Williams and Craig Bradshaw of Winthrop are also in the hunt with 112 career games.
Should Blair not miss any games remaining on the Liberty schedule, he would be the first to 120 games which will be the Flames' Feb. 21 game at VMI. Blair would also be the first to reach 121 games when the Flames play at Radford on Feb. 24. 

The final leader will all depend on which teams advance deep into the Big South Championship. 

Blair On Verge Of Big South First
Larry Blair is 41 rebounds and 16 assists away from being the first player in Big South history with 2,000 points, 200 three-point field goals, 500 rebounds, 300 assists and 200 steals in a career. 

Blair needs to average 5.1 rebounds per game to reach 500 career rebounds by the end of the year. Blair also needs to average 2.0 assists per game to reach 300 career assists.

During Larry Blair's career, he has scored at least 20 points in 49 of his 114 games. Blair has scored at least 15 points in 74 out of 114 career games and has tallied double figures in 44-straight contests and 56 of his last 57 games. 

Blair has tallied double figures in 97 of his 114 career games, which includes 107 career starts. In addition to Blair, only three other active NCAA Division I players are approaching or have accomplished at least 100 career starts and 100 double-figure scoring games. Nick Fazekas of Nevada has 106 starts and 104 career double-figure scoring games, Jamar Wilson of Albany has 108 career starts and 95 career double-figure scoring games and Brandon Heath of San Diego State has 108 starts and 100 career double-figure scoring games. 

Blair Set To Break Big South Records
Larry Blair now ranks second all-time in league history with 734 field goals made, passing Radford's Doug Day (715) on Jan. 27. The Big South career record is 775 field goals, held by Big South Hall of Famer Tony Dunkin of Coastal Carolina (1989-93). 

Blair ranks second all-time with 1,780 field goal attempts, trailing Day for the top spot on th conference list. Day owns the Big South record with 1,782 career field goal attempts.
A Larry Blair First
Larry Blair fouled out for the first time in his career on Dec. 21 against Lipscomb. It took 101 games for Blair to foul out of a game.

McLean Collecting Double-Doubles
Junior Alex McLean collected his tenth double-double of the season when he scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against High Point on Saturday.

Bench Is Scoring
During the four game win streak the Liberty bench is averaging 39.0 points per game.

Points In The Paint
The Flames have averaged 60.7 points in the paint during their recent three game win streak at home.

On The Brink Of History
Larry Blair is quickly climbing the Liberty and Big South Conference all-time scoring lists. Blair entered the season with 1,580 career points. Here is how Blair currently stacks up on the Libertyand Big South all-time scoring lists: 

Blair needs 119 points or to average 14.87 points per game through the Flames' remaining eight games which include the first round of the Big South Championship, to take sole possession of the Big South career scoring title.

Blair Reaches 2,000 point plateau
Larry Blair became the third person in Big South and Liberty history to score 2,000 career points. 

The guard also became the 429th player in NCAA Division I history to reach the 2,000 point landmark. 

Blair joins three other players this season in reaching the milestone. Caleb Green of Oral
Roberts, Nick Fazekas of Nevada and Gary Neal of Towson State & La Salle all accomplished this feat earlier this year. 

Blair scored 26 points to Green's 19 when Liberty and Oral Roberts met in the BYU Holiday Classic on Dec. 30.
