Caleb Edmonds is now the eighth-fastest indoor men's 5K runner in program history, after his 14:29.20 clocking on Saturday.

Liberty's Caleb Edmonds and Josh MacDonald both recorded top-five finishes in the men's 5K final, highlighting the Flames' performances on Saturday at the Virginia Tech Invitational.

Edmonds placed fourth in the 25-lapper at Rector Field House, clocking an indoor 5K personal-best time of 14:29.20. His second IC4A-qualifying performance in the event already this season moves the Empire State native up to the No. 8 spot on Liberty's all-time indoor 5K list.

After redshirting the 2012 cross country campaign, MacDonald made an impressive season track debut. He came in fifth while qualifying for the IC4A meet with his time of 14:40.95.

In her 2012-13 indoor track season debut, Khristina Kanagy paced a trio of Lady Flames in the women's 3K final. The senior came in eighth of 20 competitors with a time of 10:15.88. Sophomore teammate Meredith Mistretta lowered her personal best 3K clocking to 10:38.43.

Liberty will hold its second home meet of the season, the Liberty Open, next Friday and Saturday at the Tolsma Indoor Track Center. Friday's action is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., with Saturday's first event slated for 9 a.m.
