Siim Tuus and the rest of the Flames have been picked fourth in the Big South preseason poll.

The Liberty Flames men's tennis team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2013 Big South men's tennis preseason poll, as voted on by the conference's head coaches. The poll tabbed Radford as the preseason favorite to win the league.

The Flames collected one first-place vote and garnered 46 points overall to finish in a tie for fourth place with Winthrop.

Liberty finished the 2012 season with a 15-8 record overall, including a 3-4 mark in Big South matches.  The 15 victories ranks as the second-most wins in program history. Liberty notched 90 singles wins, as five players reached double digits in the win column for the first time since the 1990 season.

The Flames garnered the No. 6 seed for the Big South Men's Tennis Championships. Liberty faced No. 3 seed Coastal Carolina in the first round, with the Chanticleers edging out the Flames, 4-3, in a match which lasted until well past midnight.

Liberty returns four players who accounted for 44 of the team's 90 singles wins last season, including senior Siim Tuus who recorded a team-best 14 victories last year. Also returning for the Flames are junior Shea Thomas and sophomores Jorge Azuero and Dillon Segur. Segur tallied 11 victories in 2012, while Thomas and Azuero racked up 10 and nine wins, respectively.

Two-time defending Big South Champion Radford received five first-place votes and finished with 77 points. Coastal Carolina, which collected one first-place vote, and Campbell shared second place with 62 points.

Presbyterian College (45), UNC Asheville (34), Gardner-Webb (20) and Longwood (13) round out the preseason poll.

Liberty's first dual match of the 2013 season is slated for Feb. 1, when the Flames face Bluefield State at 2 p.m. The match will take place in Sulphur Springs, W. Va. at the Greenbrier Resort.
