As the Flames Sports Network continues to recap the 2012 football season, FSN looks back at the Top 10 moments of the year, continuing today with moment No. 2.

The next moment in the Top 10 series wrapped up the 2012 season and provided the Flames with their fifth Big South title in the last six seasons.

Following a thrilling 28-14 victory over No. 6/8 Stony Brook at home, Liberty still needed to win its last game of the season to claim a share of the 2012 Big South crown.

A late third quarter touchdown pass from Eric Kordenbrock to Mario Thompson pulled VMI within five points of the visiting Flames, 19-14, and gave the Keydets hopes of defeating Liberty for the first time 2005.

After forcing the Flames to punt on their final drive of the third quarter, VMI took over possession and started marching downfield. The Keydets managed to get into Liberty territory (Liberty's 36-yard line), but a pass breakup by Walt Aikens on a ball thrown over the middle on fourth-and-two gave Liberty the ball back and the defensive stop it needed.

The Flames would keep to the ground the rest of the fourth quarter, scoring two rushing touchdowns to seal a 33-14 win over VMI on Nov. 17 and secure the Flames' share of the Big South title. The win wrapped up the Flames' first season under head coach Turner Gill, where Liberty won six of its last seven games.

Be sure to check back each weekday during the next week, as the Flames Sports Network and LibertyFlames.com continue to reveal the Top 10 moments of the 2012 football season. The No. 1 moment will be revealed tomorrow.
