Jorge Azuero

The Liberty men's tennis team enters the 2013 season looking to build upon a very successful 2011-12 season. Last season's total of 15 wins marked the program's second highest single-season win total. The Flames racked up 90 singles victories on the year, as five players notched double-digit win totals for the first time since the 1990 season. Liberty returns four players from last season's squad and also welcomes four new players to the team. Throughout the 2012-2013 season, LibertyFlames.com will provide a look at each of the Flames' players.

Colombia native Jorge Azuero posted a 9-2 mark during the 2012 spring slate. The sophomore played the majority of his matches in the No. 6 position, posting a perfect 7-0 record in that position. Azuero notched a 4-1 mark in Big South conference tilts and was named the Big South Freshman of the Week on April 10. Azuero was tabbed the Big South flight winner for the No. 6 position. This fall Azuero recorded six victories, including 3-1 showing at the Wake Forest Fall Invite.

From the Head Coach: "Jorge plays with a big heart! There is never a time in the match when he does not believe he can win."
