Aldreakis Allen and Nick Sigmon, Liberty's offensive and defensive leaders against Charleston Southern, were honored earlier today with Big South Conference weekly football honors.

Allen was named the Big South Offensive Player of the Week and Sigmon was named the Big South Defensive Player of the Week following the Flames' 26-12 win over the Buccaneers on Saturday at Williams Stadium.

Allen had his second-most productive day as a Flame, rushing 19 times for 179 yards and three touchdowns. All three of his scoring runs were for 30 or more yards and he now enters the final two regular season games of the year needing 116 rushing yards to become the 10th 1,000-yard rusher in program history.

Sigmon had his second-best performance of the season and fourth-best game of his career, finishing the contest with eight stops (six solo, two assisted). He also recorded a single-game career high with four tackles for a loss. His eight-stop effort against the Buccaneers gave him exactly 100 career tackles, making him the fifth active player on Liberty's roster with 100 or more career stops.

The two remaining weekly honors went to Coastal Carolina players following the Chanticleers' 55-33 road win at Gardner-Webb. Defensive tackle Johnny Hartsfield was named the Big South Special Teams Player of the Week, while quarterback Alex Ross was tabbed the Big South's Freshman of the Week.

Liberty will close out the home portion of its 2012 regular season schedule this Saturday when the Flames host Big South leader Stony Brook (9-1, 5-0 Big South). The battle between the No. 6/8 ranked Seawovles and the Flames is slated to kick off at 3:30 p.m. inside Williams Stadium.
