With the Liberty volleyball team in preparation for a weekend conference trip to South Carolina, the Flames Sports Network's nick Pierce caught up with head coach Shane Pinder.

Liberty (14-6, 4-1 Big South) is in a first-place tie in the Big South standings with Presbyterian College after posting back-to-back conference wins over Campbell and High Point, this past week. During their two matches on the weekend, the Lady Flames outhit opponents, .280 to .142, improving on both offense and defense. Four Lady Flames (Caroline Douglas, Loren Thomas, Lillie Happel and Jade Craycraft) all averaged over 2.0 kills per set.

The Lady Flames next travel to South Carolina, where they will face Charleston Southern at 7 p.m. on Friday before meeting Coastal Carolina at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both Charleston Southern and Coastal Carolina are one match behind Liberty in the conference standings at 3-2.
