The Flames suffered their third-straight setback to open the 2012 season, falling 34-14 to No. 14/12 Montana, Saturday afternoon, at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula, Mont.

In the first-ever meeting between the two programs, the Grizzlies used timely offense and Liberty turnovers to jump out to a quick lead. A Chris Lider 42-yard field goal with 6:52 left in the second quarter put Montana up 24-0, despite the Grizzlies only mounting 89 yards of total offense.

In his first start at quarterback, Josh Woodrum carved his name into Liberty's record books. The redshirt freshman became the 11th quarterback in program history to pass for 300 yards in a game (322) and his 34 completes set a new school single-game record.
