Second-year swimming head coach Jake Shellenberger leads the Lady Flames as they prepare for the season opener Oct. 22 at Marshall.

LibertyFlames.com's Nick Pierce caught up with Liberty swimming head coach Jake Shellenberger to discuss the upcoming swimming campaign, which opens Oct. 22 at Marshall.

As a first-year program in 2010-11, the Lady Flames posted a sixth-place finish out of 13 teams at the CCSA Championship meet. Brye Ravettine was named Co-Freshman of the Meet, capping a strong freshman campaign. Sophomores Sarah McCorkle and Bethany Wakeley will serve as co-captains this season, helping lead a squad composed solely of freshmen and sophomores.

Liberty will contest its only home meet of the campaign Oct. 28 vs. Radford.
