Matt Williams

Last week, former Liberty Flames shortstop Matt Williams played in Danville with his first professional team, the Johnson City Cardinals.  LibertyFlames.com's Nick Pierce visited with Williams, checking in on the former Flames player's first year of professional baseball.

Williams, who was selected in 15th round by the St. Louis Cardinals this past spring, is currently a member of the Johnson City Cardinals of the Appalchain League. In 57 games, the shortstop has hit .291 with 24 RBIs and 45 runs scored.  He has 18 doubles and six home runs.
