Flames Practice Recap: Tuesday (Aug. 23)
The Flames returned to the practice field on Tuesday afternoon, starting their second to last week of preparation before their season opener against N.C. State on Sept. 3.
The Flames have had the past two days off from practice, following Football Media Day on Sunday and the first day of classes on Monday. Flames head coach Danny Rocco was pleased with his team's effort on the field, commenting that his squad had "good energy" during the two-plus hour workout.
The practice plan for today called for several sections of review, as the team revisited several of the elements the coaching staff worked on during 2011 Football Training Camp.
During today's post practice interview, FSN reporter Alan York had a chance to talk with Rocco and junior running back Sirchauncey Holloway.
Holloway led the Flames and ranked No. 2 in the Big South after rushing for 10 touchdowns in 2010. He finished the season with 524 rushing yards on 108 carries, averaging 4.9 yards per rushing attempt.
Rocco's practice plan for tomorrow will almost mirror today's plan before the Flames hold an evening practice on Thursday where they will run 90-plus scripted plays under the lights at Williams Stadium.
