For the second year in a row, the Flames Sports Network (FSN) will fill the airwaves during the month of August with radio preview shows leading up to Liberty's season-opening match-up with N.C. State on Sept. 3.

The Liberty Flames Football: Countdown to Kickoff 2011 shows will each air on WRVL, 88.3 FM (Victory FM), at 1 p.m. WRVL is the flagship station for FSN's radio network, which provides coverage of most of Virginia and North Carolina. A live audio stream will also be available through Victory FM's web site, while the show will be archived a few days following its airing on LibertyFlames.com.

Starting with this Saturday, FSN will air three 30-minute shows that will take a look ahead at the 2011 season. The show will be hosted by "Voice of the Flames" Alan York and FSN football sideline reporter Nick Pierce.

Each show will have a unique focus, with this Saturday's series opener set to look at Liberty's prolific offense. Last year, the Flames ranked No. 2 in the country in total offense (459.91 total yards per game) and No. 3 in scoring offense (36.45 points per game).

York and Pierce will have interviews with offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brandon Streeter and quarterback Mike Brown. In 2010, Brown led the country in total offense, as the two-time Walter Payton Award candidate averaged 346.36 total offensive yards per contest.

Each of the trio of shows will also preview several of Liberty's Big South Conference opponents, where York and Pierce will take a look at the six teams that stand between the Flames and an unprecedented fifth-straight Big South Conference title. During this week's show, the pair will preview Gardner-Webb, VMI and Presbyterian College, two teams that are predicted to finish tied for fourth, sixth and seventh, respectively, in the Big South this upcoming season.
