As the Liberty women's basketball team prepares for home games against Gardner-Webb and Winthrop, Nick Pierce caught up with redshirt sophomore Tolu Omotola and head coach Carey Green.

The Lady Flames have won five straight games and 10 of their last 11 contests, moving into first place in the Big South standings at 8-1.

Omotola has been a key part of Liberty's success in conference play, averaging 9.7 ppg and 7.2 rpg during Big South matchups. She is playing her first season in a Liberty uniform, after transferring from TCU.

The Lady Flames will host Gardner-Webb Saturday at 5 p.m., tipping off a basketball doubleheader at the Vines Center. The Liberty men's basketball team will follow with a home game against High Point at 8 p.m. The world-renowned ZOOperstars will perform during both contests.

Liberty will then close out its three-game homestand Monday at 7 p.m., when Winthrop visits the Vines Center. The game will be the Lady Flames' annual WBCA Pink Zone contest, in support of breast cancer awareness.
