Liberty Flames Podcast: Swimming
Link to iTunes Liberty Flames Podcast page
In this week's Liberty Flames podcast, host Alan York sits down for a one-on-one interview with Lady Flames head swimming coach Jake Shellenberger. The program will kick start its inaugural season on Saturday at home meet against Campbell at 1 p.m.
The Lady Flames are the newest member of the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA), a conference made up of 13 programs, including Big South members Radford, Gardner-Webb and VMI.
Shellenberger joined the athletics department in July 2009, and spent his first year on the job recruiting and working with the Liberty club swimming team. This past summer, he was joined by assistant coach Jessica Barnes, who came to Liberty after a coaching stint at Rutgers.
Shellenberger has 17 athletes on the roster this season, and is aiming for a top-8 finish at the CCSA Championships in February 2011.
In an effort to continue to expand its coverage of Liberty Athletics, the Flames Sports Network (FSN) has launched the Liberty Flames podcast, a weekly podcast dedicated to an inside coverage of Liberty Athletics.
The weekly podcast will be hosted by Alan York, of FSN Radio and the new radio "Voice of the Flames," and will feature weekly segments with Athletics Department coaches, student-athletes and administrators.
The show will be made available for download in various forms each week, including through the iTunes U directory. Fans wishing to have the weekly audio podcast automatically downloaded to their iTunes account just need to search for "Liberty Flames podcast" on the iTunes U directory and hit the subscribe button.
The Liberty Flames podcast will also be made available on LibertyFlames.com and can be listened to directly from the official web site of the Liberty University Athletics Department.
