Flames Fan Fest Returns August 26
Liberty Athletics will hold its sixth annual Flames Fan Fest event on Saturday, August 26 in conjunction with a Liberty Football open practice during preseason training camp.
Williams Stadium gates will open at 6 p.m. for the event and the team will scrimmage from 7 to 8 p.m. The event is free of charge and open to the general public. Fans attending the event will have the opportunity to take home a Flames Football Saturday yard sign! These will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Many of Liberty's traditional game day activities will be available to fans, including Kid's Zone. Fans are encouraged to participate in tailgating prior to the event. In addition, our Sodexo concessions stands will be offering a $6 combo meal for all fans which includes a hotdog, chips, and a 20 oz. fountain drink.
Following the scrimmage, Liberty Athletics will hold an autograph and photo session on the concourse level of Williams Stadium. Head Coach Turner Gill and his staff will be available for autographs and photos directly following the scrimmage, followed shortly thereafter by the student-athletes. The meet-and-greet session will run for approximately an hour.
In addition, the Liberty Flames Sports Network will be doing a two hour radio show around the event, starting at 7 p.m. The 88.3 Journey FM broadcast will cover the scrimmage, plus provide post-practice interviews with head coach Turner Gill and players. The Flames Club will host an exclusive event for its Varsity Club members and all former Liberty student-athletes. The event will take place in the Club Pavilion of the Williams Stadium Tower (third floor) from 6 to 7 p.m. and will include a tailgate meal (hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.), door prizes and an opportunity to tour the new indoor football practice facility. The Flames open the 2017 campaign at Baylor on Sept. 2 and host Morehead State on Sept. 9 for the Liberty's 2017 home opener at Williams Stadium.
