With the Liberty baseball season opener just 15 days away, Liberty Flames Sports Network's Nick Pierce caught up with sophomore pitcher Parker Bean to discuss his expectations for the year and get an update on the Flames' preseason preparations.

Last season, the right-hander earned Big South Freshman of the Year honors and was named a Freshman All-American. The Hanover, Pa. native, posted a 7-3 record with a 2.95 ERA in 15 starts in 2014.  He struck out 78 and walked 36 batters in 73 1/3 innings.

The Flames, ranked as high as No. 23 in the preseason national polls, will open the 2105 at Kennesaw State on Feb. 13.  The Owls, a 2014 NCAA Super Regional participant, have been listed as high as No. 19 in the national preseason polls.
