On the heels of Liberty's first road meet of the 2014-15 indoor track & field season, Nick Pierce of the Liberty Flames Sports Network caught up with head coach Brant Tolsma.

The Flames and Lady Flames competed at the Hokie Invitational, Friday and Saturday in Blacksburg, Va., and recorded some noteworthy performances.

Janae Jones won her third straight women's triple jump title to start the season and qualified for the ECAC meet in the event. Joining Jones as new ECAC qualifiers were Ansley Gebben (400) and Ednah Kurgat (3K). Meanwhile, Zach Davis picked up an IC4A qualifier in the high jump.

Liberty will take this weekend off from competition before returning to action at the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup. The team scored meet will be contested Feb. 6-7 at Penn State's Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track in University Park, Pa.
