Game On recently featured Titus Koech and Stalline Kurgat, who moved from Eldoret, Kenya to Lynchburg last summer to compete in cross country and track & field for the Flames.

Koech and Kurgat both found success during their freshman cross country season at Liberty. Koech placed fourth and Kurgat was 15th at the Big South Cross Country Championships. Koech then finished 26th overall (third among freshmen) at the NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Championships.

Koech opened his collegiate track & field career at the Hokie Invitational on Friday. His 3K time of 8:31.94 ranks first in the Big South Conference this season.

The Flames will take this weekend off from competition before returning to action at the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup, Feb. 6-7 in University Park, Pa.
