Following two big wins against James Madison and Morehead State on Friday, the Liberty Flames (2-0) men's tennis squad turns its attention to the No. 3 ranked Virginia Cavaliers, Sunday at noon in Charlottesville, Va.

Liberty began its season Friday blanking James Madison, 7-0, in the friendly confines of the Sports Racket. The shutout marked the first time since April 12, 2013 against North Carolina Central (4-0) that the Flames had shut out an opponent. The win also marked the second time that Liberty had defeated the Dukes under the guidance of Chris Johnson, with the first time being last year in a 5-2 victory on March 13, 2014 in Hilton Head, S.C.

The Flames maintained the momentum, downing the Morehead State Eagles on Friday evening by a score of 5-2. Freshman David Bush delivered two clutch performances, one being the doubles-clinching victory and the other coming from the No. 6 spot with the match-clinching win.

The Cavaliers (1-0) began their season Friday against George Washington, cruising to a 7-0 victory over the Colonials. Virginia looks to improve on that record today when they take on Louisville at 6 p.m. in Charlottesville, Va.

The Flames and Cavaliers last met on March 2, 2014 when Liberty fell, 7-0, in Charlottesville, Va.

Following Sunday's match, Liberty will return to action on Jan. 30 for another doubleheader when they play host to King University at noon followed by Bluefield State at 6 p.m. Both contests will take place at the Sports Racket.
