The Liberty Flames men's soccer team has been honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) with the association's team academic award for the 2013-14 academic year. The award recognizes programs with a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

The Flames, who posted a 3.07 team GPA, were one of 288 men's soccer teams across all divisions recognized by the NSCAA.

"I'm proud of the efforts of our men on and off the field of play as we strive for excellence academically, socially, spiritually and athletically," stated Liberty head coach Jeff Alder. "We are blessed by the academic support system that is in place and the willingness of Senior Associate Athletics Director for Academic Affairs, Ms. Kristie Beitz, and Academic Coordinator, Jess Lloyd, to invest their lives into the lives of our student-athletes."

The Flames posted an 11-6-1 overall record and recorded a 6-3 mark in Big South Conference play in 2014. For the eighth time in head coach Jeff Alder's 14 years, Liberty posted a double-digit win total.
