Liberty will play Minnesota Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Eastern and take on No. 1/1 South Carolina Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern.

On the eve of the Subway Classic in Minneapolis, Minn., Jamie Hall of the Liberty Flames Sports Network caught up with Liberty Women's Basketball Head Coach Carey Green to preview the event.

The Lady Flames will play two games at Williams Arena this weekend, including a Saturday matchup with host Minnesota (9-1) at 3:30 p.m. Eastern and a Sunday clash with No. 1/1 South Carolina (10-0) at 1 p.m. Eastern.

Liberty has never faced Minnesota on the hardwood. The Lady Flames will seek their second win over a Big Ten opponent this season, after defeating Penn State by an 80-68 count on Nov. 28.

On Sunday, the Lady Flames will meet the nation's No. 1-ranked team for the first time since playing No. 1 Tennessee in the first round of the 1998 NCAA Tournament. South Carolina won the only previous meeting between the Lady Flames and Gamecocks, 69-61, in the opening round of the 2002 NCAA Tournament.
