Liberty's Darrin Peterson (13) set a new single-season program record with 85 receptions and 1,379 receiving yards.

The 2014 football season was a record-breaking year for Liberty, including the Flames' seventh Big South title in the last eight years and Liberty's first-ever NCAA FCS Playoffs berth.

The Flames finished the 2014 season with a 9-5 overall record and a 4-1 mark in Big South play. Liberty has now claimed a Big South title each of the three years it has been under Head Coach Turner Gill.

Liberty secured the athletics department's first-ever NCAA Division I win over the No. 1 team in the country (Coastal Carolina) in the Flame's regular season finale.

The victory over the Chanticleers propelled the Flames into the NCAA FCS Playoffs for the first time in program history. Liberty opened the playoffs with a thrilling 26-21 road victory over No. 15 James Madison and advanced the second round to face No. 5 Villanova.

The 2014 season was also a record-setting year for many of Liberty's players. Here is a look at where this season ranks in the football record books.
