Lady Flames Enter Mid-Major Top 25 at No. 19

Back-to-back victories over Atlantic 10 foes VCU and Saint Joseph's propelled the Liberty women's basketball team into the No. 19 spot in this week's CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25.

Now 2-2 following a 73-62 loss at unbeaten Elon Tuesday evening, the Lady Flames are the only Big South squad to appear in this week's poll.

James Madison, Gonzaga, Green Bay, Princeton and Florida Gulf Coast own the top five positions in the rankings, which are made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast, Western Athletic.

Liberty will be back in action at the GSU Thanksgiving Tournament, Friday and Sunday in Atlanta. The Lady Flames will square off with Penn State (1-3) in the tournament's opening game, Friday at 2 p.m. at the GSU Sports Arena. Host Georgia State (2-0) and Samford (2-1) will meet in Friday's other contest.
