Liberty Men's XC Remains No. 9 in Southeast
After its third-place finish in Saturday's Greater Louisville Classic blue race, the Liberty men's cross country team remains No. 9 in today's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Region poll.
The only movement in this week's Southeast Region rankings saw Eastern Kentucky and NC State switch places, with the Colonels moving up to No. 2 and the Wolfpack dropping to No. 4. Virginia retains its No. 1 ranking in the Southeast Region.
The Flames totaled 126 points for third place out of 42 teams in the Greater Louisville Classic blue race, trailing only Hillsdale (96) and Missouri (108). Freshman Titus Koech (fifth place), redshirt senior Josh MacDonald (seventh) and freshman Stalline Kurgat (11th) all posted lofty finishes on the 8K course at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky.
The Flames and Lady Flames will take this weekend off from competition before returning to action on Oct. 18 at the ISU Pre-National Invitational. The day's first race will begin at 11 a.m. at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
