Flames Set for Top 25 Matchup against No. 25 Bryant
Following the team's final full practice this week, head football coach Turner Gill met with the media on Thursday to discuss his team's preparation for the Bryant game.
The Flames will be looking to push their record to 3-1 on the year when they host the Bulldogs on Saturday at 7 p.m. and seek their third victory in a row. Bryant will be looking to remain unbeaten as it enters the game 3-0.
The Flames are seeking their first win over an undefeated opponent (3-0 or better) since a 49-32 home victory over Cal Poly on Nov. 1, 1997.
Both teams enter the contest nationally ranked. Liberty is ranked No. 24 in the latest Sports Network poll, while Bryant was tied for No. 25 in this week's FCS Coaches poll. This week marks the first time the Flames have been nationally ranked since the final poll in 2011.
The Flames won their most recent game against a ranked opponent, posting a 56-14 victory at No. 18/16 Charleston Southern in the 2013 season finale (Nov. 23, 2013).
Saturday's game will be the first matchup of two Top 25 teams at Williams Stadium since Sept. 17, 2011, when No. 13 James Madison defeated No. 20 Liberty, 27-24.
The Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) will provide both radio and television coverage for the home contest. For more information about where to watch and/or listen to LFSN's coverage of the game, check out the Game Day Central page for this Saturday's evening contest.
