Just before the Flames set out for their first event of the 2014-15 men's golf season, LFSN's Alan York had a chance to catch up with head coach Jeff Thomas and senior Mathieu Fenasse.

The Flames will play the first of three fall events next week when Liberty travels to Toledo, Ohio, to participate in the 2014 Inverness Intercollegiate Invitational (Monday and Tuesday).

During the interview, Thomas and Fenasse recap what has been going on with the team during the summer, plus look ahead to the upcoming season. Thomas also provides an update on the Clarkson Clubhouse, the new practice facility for the program, and looks ahead to the grand opening event on Oct. 4.

Last year, the Flames had another successful season on the course, claiming their third Big South title in the last four years and advancing to NCAA Regional play for the fourth season in a row. Liberty finished the year ranked No. 35 in the country by Golfstat and No. 38 by Golfweek.
