During July, a group of 13 Liberty track & field coaches and student-athletes went on a missions trip to Guatemala. GameOn's Chierstin Susel caught up with associate head coach Lance Bingham and senior Riley Brandon to recap the memorable trip.

Liberty's missions group included Bingham, athletic trainer Mary Green, Brandon, Yana Babbitt, Audrey Bamford, Erica Carney, Kelsee Derr, Susan Tenberg, Steve Feister, Fred Fulton, Zach Gilroy, Blake Kohring and Lewis Williams.

After spending two days helping to construct a church in a Mayan village, the Flames put on a three-day track & field camp in conjunction with Athletes in Action. The camp, which took place at the national stadium in Guatemala City, attracted approximately 70 participants per day.
