The Flames moved to 2-1 on the season, jumping out to an early 21-0 lead and staying ahead of Brevard to record a 56-31 victory over the visitors at Williams Stadium on Saturday.

With the victory, the Flames have now won 11 out of their last 12 home-opening contests and are 27-14-1 all-time in their first home game of the season (21-5 in home openers at Williams Stadium).

Liberty finished the game with 625 total offensive yards on 39 plays, averaging 16.0 yards per play. The Flames averaged 18.4 yards per play on first downs during the game (14 rushing plays for 205 yards and 12 passing plays for 274 yards).

Liberty's 625 total offensive yards were the most for the Flames since Liberty set a school record with 692 total offensive yards against Presbyterian in 2012 (third game under head coach Turner Gill Liberty has amassed 600-plus yards of total offense).
