Following the team's final full practice this week, head football coach Turner Gill met with the media on Thursday to discuss his team's preparation for the Brevard game.

The Flames are looking to win their second game in a row and for the sixth of time in their last seven games dating back to last season. Brevard is looking for its first win of 2014 after opening the season last weekend at Western Carolina with a 45-21 setback. Liberty leads the overall series with Brevard, 1-0, following a 59-21 victory over the Tornados in the Flames final home game of 2013.

This is the 42nd season of Liberty football, and the Flames are 26-14-1 (.646) in their previous 41 home openers.  Liberty has won 10 of its last 11 home lid-lifters, with the lone setback during that span coming at the hands of No. 24 Norfolk State (31-24) in 2012.

Liberty is 20-5 in its first game of the year at Williams Stadium, entering its 26th season of competition at the facility. The Flames are 1-1 in home openers under head coach Turner Gill, dropping a 31-24 contest to No. 24 Norfolk State in 2012 and defeating Monmouth by a 45-15 count a year ago.

Liberty has scored 40 or more points in 11 home openers, including a program-record 76 against West Virginia Tech in 1995.

The Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) will provide both radio and television coverage for the home contest. For more information about where to watch and/or listen to LFSN's coverage of the game, check out the Game Day Central page for this Saturday's afternoon contest.
