Game On 2014 Opponent Preview: Brevard
LFSN's Game On continues its weekly opponent preview series with Nick Pierce taking a look at the Brevard Tornados, the Flames' first home opponent of the 2014 season.
Liberty closed out the home portion of its 2013 schedule with the same team, defeating the Tornados, 59-21, in Williams Stadium on Nov. 16 in the first-ever matchup between the two teams.
Josh Woodrum finished the game 14-of-19 for 247 yards and three touchdowns, despite playing only during the first half of the game.
Seven different players found the end zone for the Flames during the victory, helping Liberty rack up 588 yards of total offense. Liberty remained efficient throughout the game, finishing the contest without having to punt the ball once.
Brevard attempted only three passes but found considerable success on the ground with its triple option attack. Led by Kelvin Jeter's 148 yards and two touchdowns, the Tornados totaled 253 rushing yards and averaged 5.9 yards per carry.
Game On, a 30-minute daily sports talk show produced by Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN), airs Monday through Friday on various LFSN affiliates across the country and features regular coverage of Liberty football throughout the 2014 season.
