Liberty Flames Sports Network's Alan York recently caught up with women's soccer assistant coach Adam Godwin for a preseason update.

During the interview, Godwin discussed a variety of topics, including the program's recent No. 1 pick in the Big South Preseason poll. York and Godwin also talked about goalkeeper Holly Van Noord, who was tabbed the Big South Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.

In addition to the interview, the following video also includes exclusive footage from Wednesday's practice session.

Liberty concluded 2013 with a 16-6-1 mark, setting a new single-season program record for most wins. Defensively, the Lady Flames' program-best 14 shutouts also tied a Big South record. The Lady Flames captured their fourth Big South Championship and first since 2005, defeating Radford in the final, 5-0. Liberty's goal total marked the most goals in a Big South finals match.

The Lady Flames continue preseason training in the coming days before heading to Elon for an exhibition on Friday. Hain's squad will open the season on Aug. 22 at Old Dominion at 7 p.m. Liberty will then make its 2014 Osborne Stadium debut on Aug. 26, hosting UNCG at 6 p.m.
