During Big South Football Media Day in Charlotte last week, LFSN reporter Nick Pierce had a chance to catch up with one of his fellow commentators, Matt Warner (@MWarner_in_VA).

This will be the first season of covering Liberty football for Warner, having already served as the color commentator for the LFSN broadcasts of the 2014 Liberty baseball season.

Warner, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, began his broadcasting career while attending college at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri.  While at Evangel, he provided radio color commentary for both the men's basketball and football teams.

After college, Warner began his career as a sports anchor in local television. During the past six years he has served as a sports anchor in three different markets. He began his career at KETK in Tyler, Texas, followed by a stop at WDAY in Fargo, North Dakota, and most recently at KSPR in Springfield, Missouri.

Currently, Warner is one of the hosts of the Liberty Flames Sports Network's daily 30-minute sports television show "Game On".  The show began in February and is now available in more than 100 million homes around the country.

Warner will be joined in the football broadcasting booth with longtime LFSN announcer Mike Tilley for all Liberty football productions this season. LibertyFlames.com will feature its first position preview of August on Sunday, taking a look at Liberty's running backs.
