During Big South Football Media Day in Charlotte last week, LFSN reporter Alan York had a chance to catch up with one of his fellow commentators, Mike Tilley (@Mike_Tilley).

Tilley returns for his 27th season covering Liberty Athletics, having served as LFSN's primary television play-by-play announcer since 1987.

Tilley began his career in Central Virginia with the Victory FM Radio Network and WSET-TV 13 as both a sports anchor, reporter and producer. A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, he would go on to serve as TV host and play-by-play announcer for the Southern and Sun Belt Conferences. He has announced national and regional games for ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPN-GamePlan, Fox Sports, MASN, CSS, INSP, JCTV and several major network affiliates throughout the country.

In addition, following two decades as an executive in the telecommunications industry, Tilley now serves as the Chief Marketing Officer for Thomas Road Baptist Church and its related worldwide ministries. He and his wife Ellie are both graduates of Liberty (Mike - 1986, Ellie - 1989) and they have two daughters (both are current students at Liberty).

Tilley will be joined in the football broadcasting booth with LFSN Game On new anchor Matt Warner in 2014 for all Liberty Flames Sports Network football productions. LibertyFlames.com will feature an interview with Warner tomorrow on its website to complete the season preview from the "voices" behind Liberty's football television productions this season.
