Stadium Journey's Best College Ballpark Experiences Rankings

The Liberty Baseball Stadium, home of Liberty baseball for the past two seasons, has been ranked No. 5 in best college ballpark experiences of 2014 by the Stadium Journey web site. Stadium Journey publishes reviews of sports stadiums from around the world and to date, has reviewed 1,928 different venues in 41 countries.

The web site states that Liberty Baseball Stadium, opened in 2013, "has drawn nationwide acclaim in its short time of existence, and it sets a clear standard to which programs of its class should aspire".

The Liberty Baseball joins Dudley Noble Field – Home of Mississippi State, Russ Chandler Stadium – Home of Georgia Tech and Mark Light Field at Alex Rodriguez Park – Home of Miami (Fla.) - in the top five.  Carolina Stadium – Home of South Carolina - tops the list as the No. 1 college baseball experience.

Liberty finished 2014 in the top 50 in the nation among NCAA Division I schools for regular season average and overall attendance.  The Big South leader, Liberty finished 43rd nationally with an average attendance of 1,467 and 50th in overall attendance with 38,142 fans over 26 dates in 2014.

The Flames posted a 22-5 record this past season at Liberty Baseball Stadium, improving to 47-14 in two years in the facility. The Flames recorded their third 40-plus win season under head coach Jim Toman and the fourth in program history with a 41-18 mark in 2014. Liberty received the program's first-ever at-large selection to an NCAA Regional and appeared at a regional in back-to-back years for the first time in team history. 

In addition, Liberty captured the Big South regular season title with a 23-2 conference mark. The Flames set a program record for Big South Conference victories in 2014.
