As the Liberty softball team prepares for its fourth weekend tournament of the 2014 season, Alan York of Liberty Flames Sports Network caught up with first-year head coach Dot Richardson for an interview.

The interview provided a look into Liberty's season to date, and how the Lady Flames are developing as a team throughout the early going. The Lady Flames are off to a 2-10 start after three weekends of games, posting their first win under Richardson on Feb. 15, a 5-1 victory over Norfolk State. Richardson praised the student-athletes for their excellent team chemistry and work ethic, while looking toward the continued refining of fundamentals.

Liberty will next compete in the 49er Invitational, hosted by Charlotte from Friday through Sunday. The Lady Flames open the weekend by facing Georgetown on Friday at 10 a.m., and will also meet Charlotte and Stony Brook during the invitational.
