Former Flames football standouts and current NFL players Mike Brown and Rashad Jennings will return to Liberty this weekend to take part in a series of events put together by Liberty's Academic Affairs for Athletics office and R&M Endeavors.

The pair's weekend return to their alma mater begins on Friday evening when Brown and Jennings will host a Player Panel in the Club Pavilion of the Williams Stadium Tower (third floor). The event, which starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs to 8 p.m., is free of charge and open to the public. It will be followed by a dessert social. During the 90-minute presentation, Brown and Jennings will discuss their goals and dreams, as well as their collegiate and professional careers in athletics.

On Saturday, Brown and Jennings will host two events, beginning with a Kid's Punt, Pass and Pancake Breakfast. The event is free to Flames Kids Club members, while all other children can participate for a $5 charge. A RSVP is required for the breakfast event and reservation can be made by emailing kmbeitz@liberty.edu. The breakfast event runs from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Brown and Jennings will wrap up their weekend return to Liberty with a Skills & Drills minicamp, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Williams Stadium. The minicamp is open to students, grades 3 through 8 for a $20 charge. Check in for the minicamp begins at 10:15 a.m. in the Williams Football Operations Center. Camp participants will need to bring sneakers, cleats and their own water bottles.

All proceeds gained from any of the events during the weekend will be donated by R&M Endeavors to the Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity. During Friday night's free Player Panel, donations will be accepted.

Jennings recently finished up his fifth year in the NFL and his first with the Oakland Raiders. He was named Raiders.com Co-Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for 733 yards and six touchdowns, while adding 36 receptions for 292 yards and two blocked punts.

In his three seasons with the Flames (2006-08), Jennings was named Big South Offensive Player of the Year twice (2007 and 2008) and he was a finalist for the Walter Payton Award during his senior campaign. Jennings holds Liberty's program record with 42 career rushing touchdowns and ranks third in program history with 3,633 career rushing yards.

Brown recently completed his second season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he played in 11 games and started six contests. He finished the year ranked third on the team in receiving yards (446) and fourth in receptions (32).

Brown was a 2010 and 2011 Walter Payton Award candidate and helped Liberty win Big South Conference titles in 2008, 2009 and 2010. A three-year starting quarterback for Liberty, Brown finished his senior season with the Flames with 2,664 passing yards and 18 touchdowns, to go along with 437 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns in 2011.
