It took two extra periods to decide the outcome of Liberty's football game against No. 6/4 Coastal Carolina where the Chanticleers were able to complete their comeback and secure a 55-52 double overtime victory over the Flames on Saturday at Williams Stadium.

The Chanticleer's victory ended Liberty's Big South record 18-game home conference winning streak, as the Flames lost their first home Big South game since 2006.

Quarterback Josh Woodrum and running back Desmond Rice had career days during the Homecoming contest. Woodrum threw for a career-high 382 yards and three touchdowns, while Rice ran for a career-best 170 yards and three touchdowns.

Gabe Henderson (135 yards) and Darrin Peterson (111) became the 18th pair of Liberty receivers to finish the same game with more than a 100 yards receiving.
