At Look at the Series:
• Kent State leads the series, 1-0
• Kent State won the only prior meeting in the series, 38-10, in Kent, Ohio, on Sept. 11, 2004
• Kent State jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first half of the game at Dix Stadium and never looked back
• Kent State rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns during the game
• Joshua Cribbs led Kent State with 105 rushing yards (13 carries), followed by David Alston's 70 rushing yards (14 carries) – both players scored rushing touchdowns
• Joshua Cribbs also threw for 114 yards (20-of-29) and one touchdown (7-yard TD pass to Derrick Bush in the first quarter)
• Liberty's Eugene Goodman led Liberty's offense, rushing for 139 yards (30 carries)
• Paul Troth was under center for the Flames, passing for 112 yards (9-of-26)

• Liberty holds a 3-7 series record against current members of the Mid-American Conference
• Liberty has previously faced current MAC programs: Akron (0-1), Ball State (1-0), Bowling Green (0-1), Buffalo (1-0), Eastern Michigan (1-0), Kent State (0-1), Northern Illinois (0-1) and Toledo (0-3)
• The only two victories in Liberty's program history over FBS opponents came against MAC programs
