FSN Radio Commercial Wins NACMA Gold Award

The Flames Sports Network was recently awarded a Gold Award for its baseball season ticket radio commercial at the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) meetings in Orlando, Fla.

Initiated in 2003, the NACMA Best of Awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions.

The NACMA Best of Awards are presented in 13 categories, with each category divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to promote fairness. A NACMA  association record of more than 1,000 award entries were received for the 2012-13 year.

The baseball spot, produced by FSN's Nick Pierce, was awarded the Group II Gold Award in the Radio Commercial Division.

The Flames opened the new state-of-the-art Liberty Baseball Stadium to rave reviews this year. Liberty averaged 1,050 fans per game in 2013, nearly missing out on a Top 50 national attendance ranking.

Liberty had five home games where it drew over 2,000 fans this season. The Flames capped off a successful first year in its home baseball facility by capturing its first Big South title since 2000 when it hosted the 2013 Big South Baseball Championship.

The tournament victory pushed the Flames into the NCAA Regionals for the fourth time in program history where Liberty made its first-ever NCAA Regional finals appearance against host South Carolina in the NCAA Columbia, S.C., Regional.

The Flames finished the 2013 campaign with a 36-29 overall record and ranked No. 26 in the final Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll.
