Spring Football Practice Wrap-Up with Coach Gill
Last week, Liberty completed its annual set of 15 spring football workout sessions, including the team's Spring Football Game in front of several thousand fans at Williams Stadium on April 13.
This week, head coach Turner Gill and his football coaching staff spent the week evaluating each player in their program and how they progressed during spring workouts.
Following that evaluation period, Alan York of the Flames Sports Network had a chance to talk with Gill. During the interview, the two went position by position, reviewing how players developed during the four-week series of spring practices.
As a team, the Flames are finishing up their spring semester classes with exams starting next week. The players will continue to work out individual throughout the summer, leading up to the entire team's return in August for the beginning of preseason training camp.
Liberty will open its 2013 season, it's second under Gill, on the road on Aug. 29 with a Thursday evening game at Kent State. The following weekend, the Flames will host future Big South foe Monmouth on Sept. 7 at Williams Stadium, the team's first of seven home games for the 2013 campaign.
