Tilly Brampton

Assistant Coach

College: St. Mary's (U.K.) '10
Start Date: June 2011
Email: tgbrampton@liberty.edu

Tilly Brampton enters her fourth year with the Liberty field hockey program. She joined the team prior to its first year of competition, during the summer of 2011.

Brampton serves as a key instructor for the team's offensive unit, focusing primarily on the forward line.  She also provides administrative support, helping with recruiting, equipment management and video coordination.

In 2012, under Brampton's direction, freshman Sarah Gipe earned the NorPac's Maria Whitehead Rookie of the Year award, after notching 28 points (13 goals, 2 assists). Overall, Liberty finished second in the conference in scoring margin, scoring average, goals scored and goals scored per game.

This past season, Liberty's offense was nearly unstoppable thanks in large part to Brampton's knowledge, ranking third in the nation in scoring average (2.77), fourth in points per game (10.05) and scoring average (3.73), and ninth in assists per game (2.59). The Lady Flames tallied a conference-best 82 goals, 57 assists and 221 points. Eighteen different players notched at least one goal, while 20 total Lady Flames recorded at least one point in 2013.

Brampton, a native of Sussex, England, has playing experience at multiple levels.  After serving as the team captain of Burgess Hill School field hockey, she played for U-16, U-18 and U-21 South of England teams as well as National League for Staines Hockey Club where her teams achieved championship successes.  Brampton then played for one year at Boston College as a graduate student, seeing action in 18 games in 2010.  She notched two goals and an assist on the year, including a game winner against Northeastern.

As a coach, Brampton has also worked at multiple levels, including instructing club and school teams in England before becoming a qualified physical education teacher.  While at Boston College, Brampton helped coach at high school clinics and camps, serving as an assistant coach during the instruction.
