Patrick Gifford has served the Liberty athletics department since being hired as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in October 2013.

Gifford assists with the development and implementation of the year-round strength and conditioning program for Liberty football. He will be taking over strength and conditioning responsibilities for men's basketball, baseball and women's swimming & diving as well. He also aids in the rehabilitation and training of injured athletes. Gifford holds a supervisory role with the intern program.

He is a member of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa). Gifford is also CSCS Certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Gifford spent the 2013 baseball season working with the Miami Marlins organization, serving as Minor League Strength Coach for the Batavia Muckdogs of the New York-Penn League.

Prior to joining Liberty's staff, he served as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Mississippi State (2011-12). He assisted the Bulldogs' football team, which won the 2011 Music City Bowl.

Gifford previous spent the 2008-09 academic year as a Strength and Conditioning Intern at Michigan State.

In the spring of 2009, Gifford earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology, with a concentration in coaching and exercise science from Michigan State.

Gifford currently resides in Lynchburg.
