 After completing his Liberty playing career last spring, Brooks Roy joins the Liberty baseball staff as a student assistant.  A pitcher during his playing career, Roy primarily works with the Flames' pitching staff.|

In two seasons at Liberty, Roy posted an 11-6 record with a 3.08 ERA in 30 career appearances, 22 of which were starts.  His career ERA ranks fifth on the program's all-time list.

Last season, Roy recorded a 7-6 record with a 3.36 ERA over 88 1/3 innings for the 2013 Big South Champion Flames.   In a team-high 15 starts, the right-hander struck out a team-leading 51 batters.

Roy attended Edmonds College for two years, before transferring to Liberty.  He went 13-5 with a 2.10 ERA during his two seasons at Edmonds.

A graduate of Franklin Pierce High School, Roy was two-time all-area and all-league member.  He earned all-state honors as both a pitcher and third baseman as a senior. 

A native of Tacoma, Wash., Roy is majoring in psychology: human services.
