Brittany Campbell

Assistant Coach

College: Liberty ('11)
Start Date: 7/1/2013
Email: blcampbell2@liberty.edu

Just over three months after wrapping up her playing career for the Lady Flames, Brittany Campbell was hired as an assistant coach on head coach Carey Green's staff. Campbell is the first former Lady Flame to coach at her alma mater since Tiffany Ratcliff in 1998-99.

Despite being limited to 64 total appearances by injuries during her five seasons on the team (2008-09 through 2012-13), Campbell was looked up to as a leader by her teammates. She served as a rare four-year team captain, helping lead the Lady Flames to a 124-42 record during her career.

"It's Brittany's passion and enthusiasm, along with a thorough knowledge of our basketball program and Liberty University, that qualifies her for the challenge of fitting into the big shoes left by Heather Stephens," Green explained. "She has served in various leadership roles and brings experiences that are relevant to our players."

Campbell finished her career with her best season as a redshirt senior in 2012-13, starting all 34 games for the Big South champion Lady Flames. She averaged 5.7 ppg and shot a team-best 43.2 percent (38-of-88) from three-point range.

The native of nearby Rustburg, Va., posted 10.0 ppg and shot 57.1 percent (8-of-14) from beyond the three-point arc, helping Liberty capture the 2013 Big South Championship title. As a result, Campbell was named to the Big South All-Tournament team.

Campbell also earned a spot on the Big South All-Academic team as a redshirt senior, as well as her fifth consecutive appearance on the Big South Presidential Honor Roll. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology in May 2011 and is on track to complete her master's degree in professional counseling in December.
