While serving as an assistant coach, Vaden has helped guide the Lady Flames to six straight Big South regular season championships, six consecutive conference final appearances and six straight 20-win seasons.

During the spring of 2013, Vaden received national recognition when she was named to the AVCA's "Thirty Under 30." She was one of nine NCAA Division I coaches honored on the 2013 list.

In Vaden's seven years as a Liberty assistant coach, the Lady Flames are 153-80, including 84-18 in conference play. Moreover, Liberty captured back-to-back Big South championships for the first time in program history in 2007 and 2008, winning a program Division I-record 27 matches in 2007. The Lady Flames then repeated the feat, claiming the conference tournament title in both 2011 and 2012.

Serving as Liberty's recruiting coordinator, Vaden has coached two Big South Players of the Year, four Big South Freshmen of the Year and four conference tournament MVPs. Additionally, she has coached four players to AVCA All-Region mention, including two honorable mention All-Americans.

Prior to the start of her collegiate coaching career, Vaden spent a year working in the Liberty graduate office, beginning as an admissions specialist in May 2005. She made a rapid progression up the ladder in the office, gaining additional responsibilities as a graduate admissions counselor and ending up as the graduate new enrollment specialist. In the role, she helped the new graduate enrollment increase 18 percent from the previous year's figure.

Vaden played under Shane Pinder's guidance during her senior season with the Lady Flames (2004). An outside hitter, Vaden ranks third on Liberty's career list in kills (1,789) and fourth in digs (1,594).

As a freshman in 2001, she was a member of the Lady Flames' Big South championship team, earning inclusion on the Big South All-Tournament team. Vaden was also named the Big South Rookie of the Year. A second-team All-Big South selection in 2001 and 2002, Vaden was a first-team all-conference honoree as a senior after leading the Lady Flames in kills (507), digs (382) and service aces (30).

Vaden gained coaching experience at the club level, guiding the Heart of Virginia team from 2003 to 2005 and the Lynchburg Juniors from 2001 to 2003. She formed the Lynchburg Juniors unit, providing a playing opportunity for girls 15 years old and younger.

She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in coaching from Liberty in 2005. Vaden added a master of arts degree in human relations at Liberty, graduating in May 2007.

Vaden is married to Christopher Vaden, a former Flames football player and currently an accountant at Cherry, Bekaert & Holland.
