Jacki Raithel joined the Liberty field hockey program prior to its first year of competition, during the summer of 2011.

Raithel serves as the goalkeepers coach, working with the team's two goalies. Under Raithel's guidance, Ann Jefferis earned NFHCA All-South Region second team honors during the 2011 season. In 2012, freshman goalkeeper Mallory Cuccio finished the year ranked first in the nation in goals-against average (1.01) and 13th in save percentage (.768). Raithel's coaching helped Liberty's goalies surrender just 1.41 goals per game in 2012, which was good for first in the NorPac.

Raithel also provides administrative support for the program, assisting with recruiting and team travel.

In addition to her coaching responsibilities with the Lady Flames, Raithel heads up Liberty's USA Field Hockey Futures site, and works as a Futures Regional Selector and Coach.

A native of Fairfax, Va., Raithel was a three-time letterwinner at James W. Robinson High School.  She then attended Richmond, where she spent her four years in the net for the Spiders.  Starting in all 23 contests during her senior year (2009), she blocked away 94 shots on the season, including a career-high 11 saves against Princeton.  She posted six shutouts to finish the year tied for first in the Atlantic 10 in the category, leading her to second team All-Atlantic 10 honors.  Raithel also left her mark in the Richmond record books, finishing her career ranked third in goals-against average (2.41).

Aside from playing experience, Raithel has coached at various levels while often focusing on goalkeepers.  She has been involved with coaching since 2007 with various club teams and has recently served as an assistant coach at Douglass Freeman High School and with Futures.
