Aaron Schreiner enters his fifth year as a member of the Sports Medicine staff after being hired in August 2005. Currently Schreiner serves as the head athletic trainer for men's basketball program and assists with football.
Schreiner came to Liberty from Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio, where he served as a graduate assistant from August of 2003 until May of 2005, while pursuing his master's degree at the Toledo. At Tiffin, Schreiner served primarily as an athletic trainer for the Dragon's football program, while assisting with men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, softball and baseball teams.
Prior to his days at Tiffin, Schreiner worked with the Chillicothe Paints Baseball Club of the Frontier League in Chillicothe, Ohio. He served as a certified athletic trainer during the 2003 season and as a first aid responder and medical assistant during the 2002 season.
A National Athletic Trainers' Associate member since 2002, Schreiner is a 2002 graduate of Taylor University in Upland, Ind., where he received his bachelor's degree in athletic training. He received his master of science in exercise science with an emphasis in clinical kinesiology from Toledo in May 2005, finishing the program with magna cum laude honors.
Schreiner, a native of Continental, Ohio, and his wife, the former Chelsea Montgomery, who is from Chillicothe, Ohio, were married in November 2005. The couple resides in Lynchburg with their bichon frise, Heidi.
